Frequently manufacturers only make one model of a device and 'defeature' it for the cheaper models, only installing certain parts.

Its often trivial to add this functionality for little cost, or abuse it for ones own purposes. Here are some of my hacks…

  • Relocating the Bluetooth antenna.
  • On This page I found some useful information including a really simple method to flash the BIOS (no DOS/Windows needed). The BIOS flash method works on the eee 1000 too.
