Because I can? Because it makes it do what I want? Why not?

Frequently manufacturers only make one model of a device and 'defeature' it for the cheaper models, only installing certain parts.

Its often trivial to add this functionality for little cost, or abuse it for ones own purposes. Here are some of my hacks...
